The “fourth trimester” — pregnancy through the first postpartum year — is one of the highest-risk periods for new or worsening mental health concerns. Anxiety, depression, birth trauma, identity shifts, and grief are common — yet screening and referral systems are inconsistent and often delayed.

Fourth Trimester Care Network connects individuals across Florida with vetted, licensed therapists trained in perinatal mental health. We prioritize warm handoffs, coordinated referral pathways, and accessible options, including telehealth and community-based support.

We help people move from overwhelmed and searching… to supported and scheduled. We believe families shouldn’t have to navigate referrals alone - and providers shouldn’t have to either.

We work alongside providers and systems to:

• normalize routine perinatal mental health screening

• expand access to evidence-based care

• advocate for insurance parity and sustained support beyond the six-week visit

How It Began

Fourth Trimester Care Network was founded on a simple belief: emotional health during pregnancy and postpartum deserves the same urgency, coordination, and sustained support as physical care.

After seeing how many individuals struggle to access specialized mental health support during fertility challenges, pregnancy, postpartum, and loss, it became clear that the gap wasn’t personal — it was systemic.

Fourth Trimester Care Network exists to ensure care is timely.
